Christmas Dance

Tonight is the Christmas Dance which was "girls' choice". M has been planning this for months! This is how her day went...

8:00 a.m. ACT Test
12:30 p.m. Hair
2:00 Get home and eat lunch
2:45 Mckizzle comes for make-up
3:15 Leave to pick up Andrew
3:30 Back home with Andrew for pictures
4:00 Leave for dance

We haven't seen much of her today! Here is a quick picture before the left.

Keep your fingers crossed. It has snowed all day long! Hopefully they all get back to our house safely for the after dance activities.

Guess Who Is Student Athlete of the Month??

That's right! Miss M was honored this morning at a breakfast! She was nominated by her Cross Country coach not only for her running, but also her academic achievements!

This is a crappy picture, but I was lucky to sneak this one. What's with the other parents not taking pictures of their kid? Duh? This is a big deal! M told me not to take any pictures and that she would pose for me later. Whatever!

Congratulations M!

Happy Homecoming!

Happy Homecoming M! M's big day started at 11:00 this morning when her date picked her up to go to Cherry Hill. After the day activity (which I still don't understand), M came home and headed out to get her hair done like this...

Mckizzle stopped by to help M with her make up (good job Mckizzle)!

This would be the finished product...

And a dance post wouldn't be complete without M's silly pose. This is what she would look like if she was a Munchkin...

Her date showed up with roses for M and a bouquet of flowers for M's mom. (imagine the points he scored!) After quite a time trying to get his boutonniere pinned on, Mckizzle had to step in and help out. Here is the cute pair! I hope you have a great night M!

Guess Who Came to Work Today?

My friend Sandy tipped me off this morning to some excitement happening at the Wells Fargo Center. As she stepped off the train this morning, she noticed a guy in a pink bunny suit outside our building. That really didn't peak her interest, but the security guards in the lobby did. After interrogating the security guards, she found out that American Idol is doing call-backs in our building.

I went to lunch with Ron and could see that things were starting to happen behind the building. After waiting around for a while, here is who came to town...

See why I go to work each day? You never know what might happen at WFB!

Back to School...Three Weeks Later!

So...we are about three weeks into the new school year. It is nice to be back in a routine (if you don't count all of the extra activities we throw in the mix). I still get excited to take the kids shopping for new pencils, pens and binders. I love the smell of the supplies! Since M started her senior year this year, I think this might be the last "first day of school" picture she lets me take. Sorry L...you're still in it for a while!

If you can't read the quote, it says, "Be curious always! For knowledge will not acquire you, you must acquire it." Oh... and at the bottom of the Post-It note, it says, "Homework makes you ugly."

Why Does This Ad Remind Me of Jason?

I saw this ad on another blogger's site and it reminded me completely and totally of my brother Jason and his daughter! Just thought I would share!

Mayor's Cup Results

I know I'm a bit late in posting...but the results are in! L's team took second in the Mayor's Cup losing in the championship game to La Roca (who they previously had beat in the tournament). Here is a quick pic of the guys.

J's team took first in their age group. I'll post some pictures of him later...

This is what makes the Trusty family laugh!

I was reading one of my favorite blogs this morning and she had some of her favorite Sesame Street clips on her blog. We started watching this one (Ron and me for the 1,000,000th time and the kids for the first). What ever happened to good old Sesame Street? The channel with the mouse has killed it! Anyway...have a good laugh - we did!

That was some good TV, wasn't it??

Running Cross Country

M has started up running again. Today she ran in the BYU (blech) Invitational in Provo. She came in first for her team and 117 overall.

Here is how excited she was to start the race...

And...they're off!

Out on the course:

Remind me again why you run, M???

Great job M! We are so proud of you (and so glad you finished another race without your leg breaking)!!

Stay-cation Day #2

Can you put up with a week's worth of posts? Oh well...if not, read no further! For those of you who are good sports, READ ON!!

Day #2 of our stay-cation started with a bike ride down the paths of Park City. These are not your typical bike paths, they are nicely groomed, easy to ride paths. Here are some shots from our ride and the sites along the way...

Grandma and Grandpa drove up today to have dinner with us. We went to the Mountain House Grill in Midway. L and M and Gma and Gpa ordered some HUGE lemonades. The food was really good (if you wanted a reference). The atmosphere was fabulous (Tuesday afternoon in Midway is pretty quiet).

After dinner, Gma and Gpa headed home and we ventured out to do pictures with M. I won't add those here, but there are some below. Later, we all crowded in on the bed at the resort to watch the Olympics. Another great day in Park City!

Stay-cation

A stay-cation is where you vacation close to home. We spent the past few days in Park City enjoying the scenery and cooler weather.

After dropping the dogs off at Camp Barkalot...

We started out at Eggs in the City, a little breakfast place in Salt Lake.

Yummm...

M...are you ready to head up the canyon?

We stayed at The Canyons at the Westgate Resort. There was all sorts of fun things to do around the resort, like racing each other in the game room...

But we mostly were out and about. We did some shopping on Main Street:

L, how do you feel about shopping?

I don't know which one L loves more, the car, or the moose?

But, the highlight of Day #1 had to be the kids most favorite place in Park City:

That ends Day #1 of the Trusty Stay-Cation. Stay tuned for more...
