Rendezvous at the Zoo

Our adventures today took us to see the new Rocky Shores exhibit at the Hogle Zoo.  We spent the morning FINALLY cleaning out the garage.  Now I know why we kept putting it off for so long.  It really wasn't much fun, but it is so nice to have it done.

We didn't get to the zoo until around 5:00 tonight, but that seemed to be the perfect time to go.  There were hardly any people left and the temperature was beginning to cool off.

The only drawback to going so late, seemed to be that the animals had all had a busy day and were worn out.  We didn't get to see Rizzo, the new polar bear, because she had been showing off for the past two hours and had decided to go inside and rest for a while.  It seemed like the grizzlies were feeling the same way.

The eagles were down low and looking proud as ever.

The elephants were active (except Suri, the baby).  It was their dinner time and they were munching down.

Suri didn't care, she was too tired to think about dinner.

The cats were ready for their catnap.

The primates were all snuggled down.

And, the seals were sunbathing.

But, there were still several animals willing to put on a show for us.

And, best of all, I finally got the picture that I have been imagining all winter when I watch L play basketball.  His arm span is so wide, that all I can think about is this shot with him measuring up with the gorillas.  They still have a little bit on him, but probably not for too long.

After the zoo, we finished off the day with dinner at The Pie.  Good day, Trusty family!

POTD - A Visitor

Ron and I were sitting out back this morning and noticed this guy hanging around.  He sat with us for quite a while and even let me walk up pretty close to take his picture.  We saw a bunch of them living in the cemetery last year and wondered if he was looking for someplace quiet and away from the Memorial Day decorating action.

Memorial Tournament 2012

Friday and Saturday were spent at another tournament. Friday night (9:00 game AGAIN) was a nice win over Dynamite.  Saturday was a loss to Silverwolves, a big win against the Bulldawgs and a loss to Cache  Valley Elite.  The second half of the last game, the boys seemed to run out of gas.  Three games with only seven players in a day was hard to do.
