POTD - The heat is on

Really? 70 degrees on February 11? This is my kind of winter.

POTD - Look Closely!

Look closely and quickly. Once the deer in my neighborhood find out these are peeking out, they will be gone!

POTD - The Bad News Bears

Even when L doesn't have a basketball game, it seems like he finds one.  It was church ball night.  It is pretty sad/amusing to watch.  L tries to just make sure everyone gets to touch the ball and have a good time.  I think some of the boys think it is the NBA.

Yesterday was the first day since starting the POTD that I have missed!  (WARNING...long story coming.)

I took a trip to Cedar City for work.  We flew in to St. George and then drove up to Cedar City from there.  On my way out, I got to experience the new body scanner.  Evidently, it didn't like what it saw, because I was then escorted by two women for a full-body pat down.  It really didn't bother me as much as I thought it would have.  The most painful part was listening to her explain what part of her hand was going to touch which part of my body - awkward!

Yesterday, we drove back from Cedar City.  We programmed the St. George airport into our GPS in the car and off we went!   Somehow, our GPS didn't know the way to the airport!  I knew we were in the wrong place, since we ended up near a school L had played soccer at before and I knew that was off course.  There were actually signs posted along the way that said, "No Airport Access."  Apparently, we weren't the first ones to get off course!  Thank you iPhone and Google Maps for getting us back en route!

Because of our little detour, once we got to the airport, I had missed the 30 minute cutoff for checking my bag.  I walked up to the counter as the girl announced the cutoff.  Seriously?  That close, and they wouldn't take my bag.  Doing carry-on isn't a big deal to me, but I had my full-size hair products and my makeup bag in there!  My options were to carry-on my bag or take another flight 1 1/2 hours later with a $50 change fee.  So...after going through my bag and throwing out all of my hair product, I headed through security.  Apparently, I have been tagged as a terrorist, because they felt the need to manually go through my bag.  Nothing quite as embarrassing as your co-worker standing there as they rifle through your unmentionables!  Um...and that scary device in the blue case??  That is my TOOTHBRUSH!!!  Be careful, I might polish your pearly whites to death with it!

I finally made it through security and boarded the plane.  I did a gate check with my bag which means that I handed it to the same girl who told me I was too late to check it and she put it in the same baggage compartment on the plane that all of the other checked bags went in to.  Good thing I threw out all of my stuff!  After I was settled on the plane, I wish I had hid my hair stuff under a bush and had my parents pick it up for me!

I hurried off the plane and ran to my car (which was parked in daily parking so I could avoid the shuttle) and rushed home just in time to catch the tip off at L's game!

After that long story, hopefully you can understand why there was no POTD yesterday!

POTD - In the Air

On my way to Cedar City via St.George. I always goof up when booking my seat and end up over the noisy wing!

Not a photo, but it reflects my life lately.

POTD - Celebrations!

Tomorrow is Ron's birthday! He told us that all he really wanted was to go out for breakfast today. Breakfast is his favorite meal of the day and one of his favorite places to go is Eggs in the City in Salt Lake. It has a nice, relaxed atmosphere and fun decor.

Happy early birthday Ron!

We also held out Third Annual "Souper Bowl" party tonight. We make soup and have everyone over for the game. No one really had a vested interest in which team won so it was a calm group. The Giants and the Patriots played with the Giants ending up winning. We had tomato soup, potato soup, and chicken with wild rice soup. And...it wouldn't be a party without Ron's famous salsa and guacamole!

In between Eggs in the City and the Souper Bowl party, we went to Sarah's birthday party! Full day! I'm ready for bed now!!
