POTD - But...I've Already Put Christmas Away!

December was the driest on record. No "White Christmas" for us. I actually love snow, but as soon as Christmas is over, I'm done with the white mess.

I knew sometime in the middle of the night that it had arrived. I woke up and my bedroom was brighter than it should have been. When it snows, the street light reflects off the snow and really lights up our room. I buried my head under the covers, looking for the dark.

Who knows? Maybe in July I will look back at this picture and appreciate the water I am keeping my lawn alive with. For now, I think I'll turn on the fire and pull out my calendar to see how many days there are until Spring.

POTD - Dead Body??

I came home from work today and found this in the middle of the floor:

M is studying for the EMT test. She passed her written this morning and has her practical this afternoon. She made a body out of cushions, dog toys and Molli's bed to practice on. Cross your fingers for a successful test!

POTD - The Other Side of the Mountain

Today I traveled to Eden for work. It was so nice to escape the brown air. It has been so warm this winter so far that I'm afraid I might catch Spring fever soon.

POTD - My Mantra

I came across this quote a while back and framed it for my office. After a bad start to my day today, it means more than ever!

It says:

Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven't found it yet, keep looking and don't settle. As with all matters of the heart, you'll know it when you find it. - Steve Jobs

POTD - Tragedy Averted

Water in the basement is never a good thing! I had convinced myself that our water heater had gone out. Luckily, it was just an old hose coming out of our furnace that had cracked. $7 later, we are feeling much better!
