Happy First Day of College!

Yesterday, M started her first day of college. I think she made it through ok. She said she was going to go back again today! So...like any day of education, breakfast is the most important part of the day:

M thought that once you graduate high school, you are exempt from first day pictures...so wrong!

And...in keeping with my role of embarrassing mom, her is a picture of her driving away as I am waiving goodbye on the front step.

I Double Dog Dare You...

Ron and I were talking today on the phone and he told me that I should learn how to make hamburger buns. Duh...don't challenge me like that. So...after work tonight, I Googled a recipe and here are the results. M makes fun of me. She tells people at her work that her mom makes "Google Food." It's true, but I didn't know that there was a name for it.

Before you make a comment, Dad, yes - I only made 11 buns. I weighed the dough so each bun was the same size. L hasn't gotten into them yet.

And...while I had flour all over again, I made more bread. I made two loaves on Sunday and they are already gone. It seems to go a lot faster since L is taking home lunch every day. Picky little booger. He hates eating school lunch except on Wednesday, because that is pizza day! Oh well...I'm just glad he eats something other than macaroni and cheese, even if it is only a PBJ!

The loaves got a little big tonight because I had to wait until my buns were finished baking before I could put the bread in. L might have to use the gallon sized Ziploc bags for his sandwich this week!

Our Version of Back to School...

Yesterday was the first day of school for L. He is the king of the school and in sixth grade. We are quickly learning how to cope with daily homework instead of weekly like he has always had. That's ok. It helps us get used to a schedule each night.

Here is one of his first projects...using each letter in your name to describe you. I told him that he should have used Luscious for L, but he just rolled his eyes at me.

Happy Back to School L! Just know that I'll most likely cry at sixth grade graduation!
