Happy Mothers' Day!

It's a little late in the day, but I want to wish you all a Happy Mother's Day! I had a wonderful, relaxing day thanks to my family. L made me a book at school with memories and reasons he is glad I am his mom. Here are a couple of quotes:

"One time after pre-school, my mom took me home in my old wagon. I was so glad when she did that."

"A lesson learned from my mom is never lie or you'll get in big trouble like I do. My mom's hobby is to punish my sister and I."

"Its not lookin good when she's angry with you. No its not. So never make my mom angry cause now you know what's comin - a big footprint on your reer."

Thanks again to my family for a great day!

p.s. Here is another gift from today. My furry kids posed for me:

Prom!

Tonight was M's big Prom date! She has been waiting and preparing for this for quite some time.

This is what it looks like to get ready for Prom. Your hairdresser comes to your house and does your hair for you (only if her name is Heather and she is absolutely fabulous)! And then, your favorite older cousin helps you with your makeup.

Now...here is where it gets a little complicated. What do you do when your date calls you around the time he is going to pick you up and says that he is stuck over an hour away at BYU at a track meet and they haven't even announced his race yet? Do you get upset? No (not yet anyway). In the meantime...you could play basketball in your Prom dress with your cousin...

You could pose for pictures for your mom...

Or pose with your cousin for pictures...

Ok, so when your date arrives, instead of rushing off to the dance, you spend your time waving...

at the cute little girls across the street, because their grandpa told them that you are a princess in your beautiful gown.

Because, after all, you did look like a princess when you left for the Prom tonight.

It's been a while since I have blogged. Here is a little catch up...M thought that she might be able to run in the track meet tonight in Fremont, but her coaches decided that it was still too soon for her to put the spikes on. So instead of a race picture, here is a picture of M on 50's day at school. She is wearing Grandpa's letterman sweater (and a compression sock to support her leg, in case you were wondering what the heck that was).

Ron and L are out on a Scout biking trip to Lagoon and back tonight (15 miles). I keep waiting for the phone to ring to pick one of them up along the side of the road!

And since everyone is gone tonight...here are my faithful companions tonight.

Well...here they are!

Ok...so you know how the Trusty's have to always go overboard, right? Once again, we have doubled our trouble by getting two boxer puppies. This is Harper (girl) and Toby (boy). They are a handful right now. They might look sweet in these pictures, but let me tell you...we are constantly splitting up their wrestlemania that is going on. It might be cute now, but think what will happen when they grow. Yikes! So...if anyone would like to puppy sit for about 12 months, let me know.

We have now entered back into the "Real World" again. M was saying earlier how much she hated coming home after a vacation away. After a TERRIBLE, stormy drive, we are back home and ready to face reality again tomorrow. So...before that happens, here are a few last pictures from the weekend...

The Saddest Girl on the Blog (or Block)

Ok...here she is. M had a bone scan a few weeks ago to see why her leg was hurting so much when she runs. Well...come to find out, she not only has a stress fracture, she has THREE fractures. She has two in her right leg (two different bones) and one in her left leg. She is booted up on her right leg and on crutches. This is the sad part...no running for Miss M this Spring!

BUT...don't let her fool you. She is going on the school "biology trip" next week to Universal Studios, Disneyland, Sea World, San Diego Zoo and more! When I asked the Dr. how her legs would affect her trip, he said that this will move her to the front of every ride line! He even gave her a note saying that her injuries are so severe, she should be allowed wheelchair and fast pass access at all of the parks. Guess who is going to be the most popular girlie on the trip?

Well, M, I guess we won't be at the track, but maybe Cross Country in the Fall?

Coming Soon...

Hmmm...

Two guesses as to where the Trusty family is this weekend...

Yeah! It was 78 degrees when we left the hotel to go to dinner tonight!

I still need to tell you about the saddest girl on the block, but it seems she is starting to cheer up a bit!

(Wait...in case you didn't guess, we are in St. George.) : )

The Happiest Kid on the Block

L's basketball standard blew over in the wind this winter and shattered the plexi in it. So...Ron gave in last Saturday and bought him the mother of all standards. It took Ron, L, and three of our neighbors to install it!

Here is the happiest kid on the block shooting on the new hoop. I thought I had taken a picture of the hoop, but I guess not. You'll have to see it later.

Remind me to tell you about the saddest kid on the block who, by the way, also lives at our house!

Church Ball

Church ball...what do you say about it? I am so happy that Ron made it through the season without any major injuries. He hasn't played ball in like ten years or so. It was a lot of fun to watch the "old men" play again!

The Gymnast

Here is H at her Park City meet. She did really well in her events! Watch out Greg Marsden...H will be a Ute Gymnast (Red Rock) before you know it!

Announcing the Newest Member of the Family!

Meet the newest member of the Trusty family...Harper!

Ok...I know that we weren't going to do this again, but I guess we just can't live without another puppy. This is Harper. She is four weeks old, which means that we won't be bringing her home until right before Easter. M is already holding a countdown of days until we can pick her up. We have the doggie nursery stocked with almost everything except the kennel.

M is planning on her being a running partner and L is planning on a doggie cheerleader at his soccer games. Ron and I are just hoping to get her kennel/house trained as soon as possible!

What a sad day!

Our sweet Ruger had to leave us this week. It was a seriously sad thing to deal with, but we are all better for being able to spend the last 13 years with him. Yep...that is little L throwing the ball to him in Ruger's more spry days.

We will miss you buddy!

New Faces!

Here are a couple of faces you don't see around here very often. I took this picture of J at the dentist last week. L and M had their six month dentist appointment, but while we were sitting there waiting for M to get her x-rays taken for her wisdom teeth, J showed up to do a repair on his new braces! I took his picture and told him he was going to show up on the blog. Since he is in Las Vegas playing soccer this weekend, I thought now would be a good time to post it, since he can't come and get me!

This is H and her BFF B. We were at the Ute's gymnastics meet on Friday and while I was showing Stacey pictures of J at the dentist, I took a picture of them. H has a gymnastics meet in San Diego this coming weekend. Maybe I can stow away in her suitcase so that I can see some sun!

M is starting her track conditioning class this week and L is still playing basketball. They made it through the second term of school (hello...didn't I just drop them off for their first day of the year?). Blog posting is slow this time of year, I guess I should take my friend Sandy's advice and get out and LIVE! That is her non-resolution for 2008...LIVE every day! I'm just waiting for the sun to come out again!

Wasn't He Cute Back Then?

Ron and the kids gave me a new photo scanner for Christmas. It is having problems getting installed correctly (danged Windows Vista!) But...here is one that I tricked it into scanning. Don't you just want to kiss those little lips? Ok...it made me laugh! So...just warning you...there will be more photos from the past coming up. You know how much my kids like to have their pictures taken, so I guess you will all have to suffer through the old ones. Let me tell you...I have a TON!

Happy weekend!

Grandma Nanny

Ok...I totally stole this picture from my cousins' blog (sorry, Tina), but this is a picture of my Granny. I don't know who is having more fun...Santa or Grandma. All I can say is watch your hands, Santa!

Merry Christmas Eve!

Sledding

Since I am supposed to be at Sandy's party right now (who won the bet that I wouldn't show up?)...I am posting pictures of L sledding yesterday. He had to try out his new helmet. M wasn't there to participate...maybe next time. Sandy...maybe next year? I was furniture shopping (sorry).
